The Journey is all that Matters

I started my career as a freelance photo-journalist in 1987. I spent the next ten years working for all the major Irish and international newspapers and magazines including the New Yok Times and The Sunday Times (UK) and Irish Times and Sunday Tribune (Ireland). Following the genocide in Rwanda in 1994 I began to withdraw from reportage and began to concentrate on my first love; using photographic images as my means of artistic expression. There are two major strings to my bow. The first is my desire to hunt for images in every part of this wonderful world. The second is to apply this world view and experience to making images of my home place……The journey is all that matters“. – Padraig Grant
