Manus Walsh
BIOGRAPHY
Manus Walsh is a painter, born in Dublin, and now lives and works in the Burren. Grandson to author Maurice Walsh (The Quiet Man) and Irish language writer Sean O’Kiersey, he has carved his own niche in landscape painting which is greatly influenced by his surroundings in Co. Clare. His exploration of this area has lent itself to stratified landscape works with horizontal lines, full of ghosts, still, calm, and virtually devoid of any colour, including some remarkable nocturnal views.
Walsh has exhibited in Ireland, Chile, Spain and Germany, and his work is held in the collections of AIB, The Arts Council of Ireland, Office of Public Works Insurance Corporation of Ireland, Wexford County Council collection, and numerous private collections worldwide.
