BIOGRAPHY

Paddy Darrigan was born in Co. Wexford in 1963, the youngest son of a blacksmith. A self-taught artist, he had his first solo exhibition in 1983 at the age of twenty. He works from life and is a founder member of Wexford Life Drawing Group and a member of Waterford Live Art. His artworks range from wooden carved sculptures to plein-air paintings, in which he draws on real life and the essence of a place, rather than the place itself.
