BIOGRAPHY

Giath Taha, born in 1982 in Damascus, is a visual artist currently based in The Netherlands. He studied Photography and Applied Arts at the Walled Izzat Institute in Damascus, as well as Literature at the University of Damascus, Syria. During the early stages of the Syrian revolution, Jaba actively engaged as both an activist and photographer in Aleppo and Idlib, situated in the northern part of Syria. Holding a master’s degree in Artistic Research from the Royal Academy of Arts (KABK) in The Hague, Taha focuses on researching the intersection of visual representation and politics and on creating a counter-narrative that challenges conventional perspectives.
