BIOGRAPHY

Rosie O’ Gorman lives and works in Co. Wexford. Her practice includes drawing, painting, installation and sculpture. Through Cow House Studios, which she established with her husband Frank Abruzzese at her ancestral home in rural Wexford, Rosie shares her home, family and her love of art and education.

In 2000 Rosie graduated with a BA in Art and Design Education from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin. In the same year she received two national awards; the Larkin Memorial Award for teaching, and the Taylor Award for painting. With the support of a Fulbright Scholarship, Rosie attended the San Francisco Art Institute, California, receiving her MFA in 2004. On returning to Ireland O’ Gorman’s solo exhibitions include Practice Makes Penance, Wexford Arts Centre, Wexford (2006), and The Half Light, HANG Gallery, San Francisco, USA, (2004). She has exhibited in selected group exhibitions such as Bare Root, Wexford County Council, Wexford, (2017) And Creatures Dream…A New Language, Wexford Arts Centre & Wexford County Council, Wexford, (2017), Living Arts Project Exhibition, Wexford Arts Centre, Wexford, (2016) The Tools curated by Nora Rodriguez, Root Division, San Francisco, USA, (2014) and Sexual Souvenirs curated by Naomi Watts, Museum Everywhere Everyone Everything, Brooklyn New York.USA, (2013).

Her work is held in collections of the Office of Public Works, and Wexford County Council.
