BIOGRAPHY

Ciaran Bowen is a painter who lives and works in Co. Wexford. His work investigates the relationship between painting and mediums, which wouldn’t usually be associated with paint. By using these non-traditional materials, Bowen pushes the constraints of the four-cornered canvas.

Since graduating from art school in 2015, Bowen has exhibited at the Bones & Pearls Studio, London “Touch Me Baby’ (2016) and And Creatures Dream… A New Language, at Wexford Council Council &
Wexford Arts Centre, Vital Material (2018), Cairde, Festival (2019), The Model, Sligo and Material Objects (2019).

He was awarded the Carlow Institute of Technology Purchase Award, which one of his degree pieces was acquired to hang in their permanent collection in Carlow IT (Wexford Campus). His work is also held in the collection of Wexford Arts Centre and Wexford Co. Council.
